I addressed voles. OK. While walking looking for vole damage I am reminded how absolutely bullet-proof narcissus are. Daffodils and all their hardy rock-garden narcissus relatives have been blooming through snow storms for over a month and nothing eats them. If a vole eats a daffodil he'll die.
This is a picture of Primula rosea 'Gigas' in my garden this morning...NOT enhanced in any way. We offer this in the summer but it's spectacularly bright magenta pink blooms burn away the snow in early spring.
